Walking And Cycling

Orton Mere and Woodston Reach are linked to both the city centre and Ferry Meadows Country Park by a network of footpath and cycle ways.

The Visitor Centre at Ferry Meadows stocks handy pocket sized OS maps which show Ferry Meadows, Nene Park and the surrounding area. Perfect for those who wish to explore further afield. The maps are water-resistant and are priced at £2.99.

The Peterborough and District Angling Association (PDAA) controls the fishing rights on the River Nene around Peterborough.

Proteus Canoe Club is based at Orton Mere. The club has direct access to the river and promotes all forms of paddle sports but specialises in Slalom.

Nene Valley Railway

The Nene Valley Railway passes through Nene Park on its journey from Peterborough to Wansford. There are stations at both Orton Mere and Ferry Meadows.
