A newtiful new hibernaculum

Chris Park and Tom Davison from the Nene Park Trust team have been busy creating an amphibian and reptile hibernaculum out of stone, located adjacent to the Coney Meadow pond.

They ambitiously decided on a wildlife themed newt design which when complete, has a certain air of dinosaur about it! There are plenty of gaps and chambers to provide sanctuary for its inhabitants during the winter.

The Trust would like to thank Bullimores Sand & Gravel Ltd very much for the donation of stone, to be able to make this hibernaculum.

We would really appreciate it if visitors to the Park who see the structure could leave the stone in place and not climb on it, as we would hate to disturb those residing there!
