Wildlife Festival comes to town

As Spring bursts and buzzes into action, plans for the Wildlife Festival are taking shape. So put 23May to 30May in your diaries now. With opportunities to discover extraordinary local wildlife close up, discover some of Peterborough's stunning wildlife areas and nature reserves, and enjoy a festival with a difference, there really is something for everyone.

The Peterborough Wildlife Festival is to be just that - a Festival celebrating the spectacular wildlife in our nature reserves, green spaces and even gardens, suitable for people of all ages to enjoy, with most activities free of charge.

Throughout the week, and at the Grand Finale on 30 May, from 11am until 4pm there will be family fun days, guided walks, Rivercare days, evening bat walks, bird races, hurdle making, garden trails, food and drink, music, wildlife crafts for children and adults, as well as practical demonstrations and surveys and information on how you can find out more and get more involved in local wildlife.

Clare Freeman, Nene Park Trust's Head of Landscape said "We're so excited about this new initiative for Peterborough which we've set up with our partners Froglife, the Wildlife Trust and Buglife.  Peterborough has so much to offer and the Festival will be an engaging time to enjoy the variety of wildlife and wildlife places to be found here"

To find out more don't forget to look out for the programme at www.neneparktrust.org.uk . We all look forward to seeing you there.
