Nene Park Shortlisted for National Access Award

In December, Nene Park Trust's Nene Park for All initiative was nominated for an Accessible Britain Challenge Award in the Innovative Use of Buildings, Spaces and Places category.

At the end of February the Trust was excitied to learn of this nomination and that it has been shortlisted to the final three.

The Accessible Britain Challenge was launched by the Minister of State for Disabled People, Mark Harper, in September 2014. The aim of the Challenge is to motivate communities including local service providers, businesses, employers, charities, community, voluntary and disabled people's groups to do more to be inclusive and accessible for disabled people. As part of the Challenge, the Minister wanted to publicly recognise communities that are making a difference and making their community more accessible and inclusive in the form of Awards.

Representatives from the Trust shall be attending an event at the House of Commons on 12 March for the winners' announcement.

The Trust would like to thank all of it's tenants, partner organisations and members of the Nene Park Access Forum for their involvement in helping to make the Park a wonderful and accessible place to visit both now and in the future.  Their contributions have helped to achieve this recognition, but more importantly made significant improvements to the accessibility of Nene Park.
