Gunwade Lake Conservation Area

An area of Gunwade Lake in Ferry Meadows (see map below) has been designated as a wildlife friendly area to promote wildlife diversity.

To minimise disturbance to nesting and roosting birds, Peterborough District Angling Association have agreed not to use this area for fishing.

The photos below show Nene Park volunteers creating dead hedges to fill gaps to prevent disturbance to wildlife. So next time you take a walk around Gunwade Lake, why not pause for a while to take a look at their handy work?
