Dogwood Coppicing

The Nene Park volunteer groups and the Ranger team have been busy coppicing the dogwood in the beds by the Discovery Den and the the Ferry Meadows Railway Station.

By coppicing the beds down to ground level the dogwood will grow back strongly. The thicker stems will then be removed whilst leaving the thinner stems to grow on.

The following year the thicker stems will again be removed. By repeating this process we plan to maintain dogwood throughout the year.
