A Job Well Done

The cold weather didn't stop the Nene Park Trust volunteers from tackling the Dogwood by the Ferry Meadows Railway Station platform.

As you can see from the photos below the Dogwood was in need of a trim. The volunteers set about the task and in under two hours there were piles of Dogweed ready for the Rangers to put through the chipper.

The chippings will be used at the site to mulch around the freshly coppiced Dogwood. In spring the Dogwood will begin to grow back and the bright red stems for which Dogwood is famed will soon be evident again.
