Nene Park provides loads of opportunities for the family to get close to nature. Have a look at some of our ideas below.

Spotter Sheets

Download our Seasonal Spotter Sheet. Just print it off and bring it along with you to the Park.The sheets can be enjoyed by all ages.

Discovery Packs

Want to learn more about the wildlife of Ferry Meadows?  Children's Discover Nature packs are available to borrow free of charge from the Visitor Centre.  Please note: while there is no cost to borrow Discovery Packs, you will be asked to leave a £10 deposit.  This will be fully refunded when the Pack is returned to the Visitor Centre.

Trail sheets are available from the Ferry Meadows Visitor Centre during school holidays. Check the events section for details. There is a small charge for the sheets which includes a prize.

Visitor Centre

As well as lots of information about what to see and do in the Park, the Visitor Centre stocks a great range of items to help you explore nature, such as binoculars, spotter guides, bug hunting kits and ID sheets. You can also watch live action from our nestcam or feedercam.


Geocaching is a great way to explore the Park. Basically, it's a treasure hunt - you download co-ordinates and with a GPS enabled device (i.e. a phone) and off you go.
