Visitor Centre

Our friendly staff in the Visitor Centre at Ferry Meadows can provide you with all the information you will need to make the most of your day. Our interactive displays allow you to discover what to see and do in the park and the local area.

The Visitor Centre is also full of great gifts, souvenirs as well as games, toys and everything you could need for a great day out.

November, February and March
Weekdays: 11am - 4pm
Weekends: 10am - 4pm

December and January
Weekdays: 11am - 3.30pm
Weekends: 10am - 3.30pm

April - October

A 12-hole Pitch & Putt course for all ages and abilities located at the entrance to Ferry Meadows Country Park.

Cycling

Ferry Meadows and the wider Nene Park offer many miles of off-road traffic-free cycling, including a stretch of the National Cycle Network Route 63.

A map is available from the visitor centre for £2.00 which shows the full network of cycle ways which make up the Peterborough Green Wheel.

Walking

Most of the paths in Ferry Meadows and at Orton Mere, Woodston Reach and Thorpe Meadows are surfaced and suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs

At Ailsworth, Castor & Sutton, the agricultural estate, most paths are un-surfaced countryside footpaths with stiles; their condition can vary according to the seasons and weather.

Geocaching

There are a series of Geocaches throughout Nene Park. For more information on Geocaching or to obtain coordinates see http://www.geocaching.com/.

Orienteering

Orienteering is a great way to explore Ferry Meadows. It is suitable for groups or families. You can run, jog or walk and it doesn't matter how young, old or fit you are. Pick up the leaflets at the Visitor Centre or download them below.

Play Areas

Ferry Meadows contains three play areas. One is located near to the Watersports Centre, another is located by Overton Lake and an area specifically for younger children is next to the Visitor Centre Cafe.
